Loren Green, LCSW

They/ Them

I have a client-centered and trauma-informed approach to therapy that incorporates mindfulness based cognitive behavioral therapy (MCBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), and motivational interviewing. I believe to have sustainable change and lasting relief it is important to explore and respect the brain-body connection. Together, we will learn about the interaction between mental health symptoms, emotions and physiological states, and learn skills to influence these interactions.

I am former high school teacher, and now a mental health professional, I’ve worked with adults and adolescents from a wide range of backgrounds. I passionately embrace and celebrate the diversity of Chicago and I’m proud to advocate for creating a safe space for people of all cultures, sexual orientations, and gender identities. Clients working on integrating an LGBTQIA* identity will find support and validation in my office.

I received my master of social work degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I received my clinical training in EMDR therapy from EMDR Consulting.

During my career as a social worker, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a residential program for individuals with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. I’ve also worked as a therapist and clinical supervisor in a group practice, outpatient mental health clinic.

I specialize in working with individuals who’ve experienced trauma. Whether it’s from a single incident or a complex history of chronic traumatic experiences, I aim to support my clients in developing awareness of, and tools to manage, the vast array of symptoms and stressors related to their adjustment to trauma. I often work with individuals who are experiencing feelings of depression, anxiety, re-experiencing, dissociation, fear/avoidance, isolation, social distress, poor self-esteem, identity confusion, numbing, and addictions. The resilience that clients consistently demonstrate inspires me and I am grateful for every opportunity to support them on their path to recovery.

Regardless of what has brought you to this point, I’m happy that you’ve made it here! I’d love to meet you and learn about your personal story.

Reese is a particularly proficient cuddler and excels in providing emotional support to anyone in need. Reese identifies as dog-cat species fluid. She has worked diligently to dismantle societal expectations of species while exploring and integrating her own identity. She can strongly empathize with those questioning their own identity.
